Davy Jones I Want A Piece Of That

Davy Jones was the most loved Monkee.    David  Thomas Jones was born
December 30,1945    Learning Street Openshaw Manchester England. He had three sisters,Hazel, Beryl, and,Linda. His father Harry Jones was a railroad fitter and a home maker, who loved horses. His father gave his son the nickname Davy. Davy took up the fondness of horses his father loved. Just think of the wonderful times they had together riding horses. His father must have been very proud of Davy.Having his father to teach him how to properly take care of horses.        Davy did play Tom Sawyer when he was younger, and at eleven did some acting.
However when he was fourteen his mother Doris Jones died of emphysema in 1960.
He no longer had a interest in school and dropped out.Instead of acting, he wanted to
be a jockey. From Newmar apprentice jockey trainer Basil Foster
would be assigned
to Davy Jones.Davy drew very close to Basil Foster.
(Later Davy Jones would take Basil Foster back to the United States and take care of him.)

  2. Davy Jones must, have faithfully, read his Bible. Why,after every concert, either solo,or with The Monkees,he always, had words of wisdom. One of his quotes was"Your actions affect other people." He was truly a great all around entertainer, and will be surely missed,by all who loved him. What a privilege, it was, that he was chosen,to drag race the The Monkee Mobile #2 Stunt car, against Carly Shelby,s Cobra Coupe.
